Fire damages historic coffee shop in Hamilton

HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19)- A fire damaged a historic coffee shop in Hamilton on Thursday morning.

Flames broke out at Brewers Coffee Shop on East Avenue at about 2:30 a.m.

The blaze took about two and one half hours to fully extinguish as a lot of the exterior structure had to be cut away to get to the deep seated fire in the wall.

A Hamilton police officer driving on East Avenue noticed the smoke and alerted the fire department.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation but firefighters suspect arson.

The fire caused $10,000 in damage.

Brewers is closed until further notice.
