OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - The OCAC is initiating a local and regional authors’ book program next year in conjunction with their second Friday events.  Applications are now being accepted from regional authors to be considered for the inaugural 2012 OCAC authors’ program. 

The OCAC is committed to introducing published books from different genres and authors from the Oxford Region.  The authors and their books will be selected annually by a volunteer committee.

OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - Calamity Rain is bringing their vibrant sound to the Oxford Community Art Center's Second Friday on November 11, 2011; OCAC’s Second Fridays Art Evening is a celebration of the arts. From 6 to 10 pm, this free monthly event features live music, exhibits of visual art, and a reception for the artists involved.

Calamity Rain is a trio unlike any other.  They describe their performances as, "digging up old time songs, shining them up just a bit, setting them out best as we know how," which also fits with how this group came about.  Deb Whitacre (guitar) and  Amy Clay (banjo) met in West Virginia, where they spent a weekend singing in the back hills with their guru, Ginny Hawker.
