City of Hamilton seeking input for East High Street Gateway Project

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - The City of Hamilton is currently developing construction drawings for the East High Gateway street-scape project.  This project was initiated by the City of Hamilton to relieve traffic congestion, improve safety, enhance the entrance into the City and to promote economic development.

To make the project a success for our City, we are soliciting input from property owners, stakeholders and the general public to guide the decision making process.

Residents are invited to attend a Public Information meeting scheduled for Monday, May 13, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Council Chambers located on the first floor of the Hamilton Municipal Building, 345 High Street.  The meeting will include a brief presentation followed with an open forum for questions and comments.

Public officials and engineering consultants will be available to answer questions.  Comment sheets and exhibits will also be available at the meeting.

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - The City of Hamilton that Westbound SR 129 (High Street) from Lockwood Avenue to SR 4 (Erie Boulevard) will have a lane  closure and shift beginning Monday, May 6 at 7:00 a.m. until Friday, June 7 at 5:00 p.m.

The lane closure is necessary for construction of an extension to the left turn lane and addition of a new left turn lane for southbound State Route 4 (Erie Boulevard). 

Left turns onto SR 4 (Erie Boulevard) will be limited. Eastbound SR 129 (High Street) will have occasional lane closures as well.  Expect traffic congestion and delays.

Ex-Little League OH official sentenced to 6 months

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - A former Ohio Little League baseball administrator has been sentenced to six months in jail for child pornography.

Roger Fox Jr., 50, of Hamilton was sentenced Monday in Butler County. Common Pleas Judge Patricia Oney (OH'-nee) also sentenced him to five years of probation, ordered sex offender treatment, and barred him from unsupervised contact with unrelated minors.

UPDATE: Special needs Hamilton teen found safe

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19)- Authorities say a critical missing teenager from Hamilton was found safe.

Isaac Powell, 19, is currently a student at Hamilton High School in the special needs program. He was reported missing after leaving the school Monday around 10:30 a.m. 

Police said Powell left the school without permission and had not been seen or heard from since.

By Monday evening, authorities revealed Powell had been returned home safely.

Police investigate Hamilton shooting

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton police are investigating an late night shooting.

Authorities were called to the 900 block of South 12th Street just before 11:00 p.m. Saturday evening.

Upon arrival, police found a 20-year-old man shot.

The victim was transported to Fort Hamilton Hospital and then sent by Air Care to UC Medical Center.

The victim's name and condition is currently unknown.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Hamilton Police at 513-868-5811 extension 1249.
